How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I have been selling real estate for 16 years. I previously worked and managed Rietdyk’s Milling Company in Ridgefield.

What is your specialty?
After working at Rietdyk’s Milling Company for many years and getting to know many farmers, I love to sell residential acreage and horse properties. I also enjoy working with first time home buyers and sell throughout SW Washington.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Communication is the key to creating a successful home sale purchase. It is important meet with your RealtorĀ® and lender to develop a plan whether you are buying or selling. Teamwork and communication will create a positive result.

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
I am currently marketing a one of a kind 165 Acre River View Estate which includes a custom one level home, guest home, indoor arena and 20 stall barn.

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
Selling real estate can be so rewarding when you are helping friends and family make their dreams of home ownership come true. There are occasionally bumps in the road during the process of making the offer to handing over the keys to the new buyer. Working through those situations to create a successful transaction can be so gratifying.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
Real Estate has been a very hot market recently with the historic low inventory and interest rates. Interest rates are predicted to trend up later this year but the market should remain strong with the improved job market in SW Washington and Portland.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
My wife (Taunie) and I love to travel and go camping with our Black Lab (Wyatt). I also grew up hunting and fishing with my dad and enjoy spending time outdoors with family and friends.

What do you like about living in this area?
The Pacific Northwest and SW Washington have so much to offer with the mild weather. I enjoy having the option of driving 1.5 hours to beautiful beaches or the national forests for hiking and camping.

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
I was born in Heidelberg, Germany while my dad was in the service and grew up in Clark County. Liz Marshall with John L Scott who is also my mother has been a wonderful mentor and helped me get started in real estate. I am on the Board of Directors for the Clark County Association of RealtorsĀ® and was just elected to be the Treasurer for 2017.
