How long have you worked in Real Estate?
36 years (since 1978).
What is your specialty?
I have been a listing specialist, but I am a good listener and I’ve enjoyed working with buyers also.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Work with someone that has a proven record of listing and selling, and select a seasoned lender. I am a “mama hen” and I take buyers and sellers under my wing. My ultimate goal is to impact the lives of my clients for the better. I help them with some of the most important decisions in their lifetime.
I will say that now is an excellent time to sell or buy. Rates are down and inventory is down, so it is actually a good time for both situations depending on their motivation. I always try to match their motivation from my end.
What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
I’ve sold log homes, view properties, multi family, and even Manufactured homes. I did have one in Hockinson that had had a tree growing in the middle of it.
I also had a house with three duplexes and a house on it that I sold to one buyer. That was a very unique situation. It was a great investment for the one buyer and could live there too.
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
I enjoy helping young people get their stake in the American Dream. I have sold hundreds of newly weds homes over the years and I have fun being the Mama hen.
What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
I see a strong market building for the younger Americans who have been on hold through the bad market times and have lots of pent up demand for affordable housing.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
I enjoy cooking, entertaining, playing music, and spending time with my children, 13 grand children and 6 great grand children.
What do you like about living in this area?
I love coming home to my dream home on Green Mountain overlooking the Columbia River, Mt Hood, and North fork of the Lewis. I love green and this side of the mountains.
Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
I love what I do. Real Estate is a service business and serving is what I do best.
