Coldwell Banker Seal
How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I have been a licensed real estate broker with Coldwell Banker Seal for the past fourteen years. In addition, prior to that I had the opportunity to work on my own real estate development project. My real estate career spans over fifteen years.
What are the top three things that separate you from your competition?
I have a great deal of corporate experience, including working for a Fortune 500 company. This has taught me the value of personal relationships and the ability to communicate.
I believe that Teamwork + Dedication + Pride = Success. Following this rule has kept my career on track and moving forward.
Networking is critical in any business environment, even more so in real estate. I have a large sphere of influence which allows me to maximize exposure and fulfill my client’s needs.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Select a real estate broker whom you are comfortable with. I like to equate the process of buying and selling a home to a saying, “Real estate is like a pair of shoes; they must fit you or you’ll never enjoy them.”
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
In a word: People. A real estate career allows us to broaden our ability to assist people. People are different, and this makes each day unique. Our industry is an ever-changing dynamic with complex issues requiring a real estate broker to be at peak performance each day. I have made many new friends by being part of this industry, and it is most gratifying when the phone rings and a former client requests my assistance.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Southwest Washington is an ideal place to call home. I enjoy the great outdoors, going to sporting events, and spending time with family. We recently took my two-year-old grandson to his first University of Washington football game. As a family, we enjoy boating, camping, and spending time together on the patio for a barbecue. I am most happy when I share this area with family and friends, with a trip to one of our fine restaurants, wineries, or historical sites. On a professional basis, I enjoy my volunteer time as co-chairman of the Greater Vancouver Luxury Home Group, and participating on the Clark County Association of Realtors Governmental Affairs Committee.
I am blessed with a wonderful family. My wife Nancy is a Spanish teacher at Skyview High School; my oldest son Kyle manages Citizens Bank in McMinnville, OR; his brother Heath is a Hot Shot firefighter based in Central Oregon; our daughter Julie was recently hired by Kaiser at the Sunnyside Hospital as a surgical physician assistant. I’m proud that, as a family, we strive to help others.
