How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I am just finishing up my 15th year! I started on a new construction project in 1999. Then in 2000 I joined the Equity Group. That same year they became Re/Max Equity Group and I have been there ever since. I’m proud to be a member of theRe/Max Hall of Fame!
What is your specialty?
I have extensive training and experience in listing and marketing homes for sale. Since obtaining my Senior Real Estate Specialist designation I have begun to focus on the needs of seniors, whether they are looking to sell or just to stay in place. I am working to become a referral resource to meet their needs.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Hire a Realtor! Buying and selling a home today can get pretty complicated and having an experienced Realtor to guide you through the process is a crucial part of the equation.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?
I once went on a listing appointment and during a tour of the home I discovered a hot tub sunken in the floor in the middle of the master bedroom! That would have been a tough sell. Luckily the owner decided not to put the house on the market at that time.
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
Most challenging: Short sales! Although I have to say I have gotten pretty good at successfully closing them over the years!
Most gratifying: Happy clients! It is awesome to be a part of getting a buyer into their perfect home or helping your seller to make their life-changing move…and making clients for life in the process.
What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
I’m definitely excited about 2015 for real estate. Lending and down payment requirements continue to become more favorable for buyers. Slow and steady home appreciation makes it possible for more sellers to enter the market as their equity returns. Those factors coupled with continued low interest rates should make for a positive year.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
I have taken up golf and love it (most of the time)! Also, I’m a HUGE 12 – as in Seahawks 12th man. Watching the games with my husband, friends and family — especially when all three of my sons can be together is the best. GO HAWKS!
What do you like about living in this area?
I love the lakes, rivers and quick trips to the Gorge and Beach, but the best thing is that I grew up here so most of my family and friends are nearby so we get to see each other as much as we want.
Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
Re/Max Equity Group has been voted one of the “Best Work Places” for several consecutive years and for good reason. I couldn’t ask for better support from my broker and office staff, and the marketing products, systems and technology allow me to provide the most professional, quality real estate service around. We really are above the crowd!
