HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED IN REAL ESTATE?
I started in Real Estate back around 2004 as a Closing coordinator for a Builder and Broker at the Parade of Homes in Washougal, WA. Having always loved the industry, I became a dual licensed agent in 2013.
WHAT IS YOUR SPECIALTY?
I call myself “Your NW Home Matchmaker” as this is a match making business, finding people the right homes to fall in love with, and finding the right buyer to fall in love with your home. I specialize in the Camas area as I lived there for 10+ years and know the area well, and also Happy Valley/Damascus OR area. Making sure you get the most money for your home and never spend more than you have to on a purchase. I work with a lot of relocation clients as well.
WHAT IS ONE TIP YOU HAVE FOR SOMEONE LOOKING TO BUY OR SELL A HOME?
Make sure you have that person who knows how to negotiate on your behalf and will go to bat for you, someone you can trust with the loyalty and commitment to making sure everyone has a winwin experience. Use a Realtor’s preferred lender to work with, this can make or break a deal.
WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL THING YOU’VE ENCOUNTERED WHILE WORKING IN REAL ESTATE?
I would say interesting ways builders have built some homes, one house had the wash room in the front of the house and a low set large window next to the toilet, so you could sit and wave at the neighbors while you used it. Some things I’ll just never understand.
WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING/GRATIFYING ASPECT OF WHAT YOU DO?
Real Estate can be very rewarding, and sometimes it can be difficult to get to the finish line. This is a very emotional time for buyers and sellers, but when you do hand over the keys to a buyer who thought they weren’t going to get the house, that is the best feeling ever! Of course there are easy/no problem ones, but it’s the challenging ones that are most rewarding. Or getting well over asking price and your Seller is overjoyed.
WHAT DO YOU SEE IN THE FUTURE FOR REAL ESTATE SALES/PRICES?
I think 2018 will be another good year for sellers as we still have low inventory, so if you’re thinking of selling now is a great time. I think prices have leveled off a bit since the swing of 2017 and more realistic pricing will continue so this is good news for buyers.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING WHEN YOU ARE NOT WORKING? HOBBIES, VOLUNTEERING, FAMILY, FUN?
If I am not on my four acres doing home projects with my husband and two dogs then I’m out camping, boating or traveling or spending time with the grandkids. Anything outdoors when the weather is good.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE OUR READERS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU AND YOUR COMPANY?
I am supported by one of the largest independent real estate brokerage in the Western U.S. with more than 300 offices in 11 states and Mexico, that has strong branding and a local presence. I am extremely blessed and grateful I get to do what I love the most, helping people and the community.
