Dear Neighbors,

I want to remind everyone that there is always a story behind the service when getting a mortgage. The story always ends best when customers have a great experience with everyone involved. I think it’s hard for most people to anticipate how important a team is when getting a mortgage.

When people talk about customer service, Gretchen Dire is an important person for what gets done to process mortgages at Peak Mortgage, a local Vancouver company. Gretchen is a processor, so getting the loan funded is the main goal. So many people think that it’s about being on the phone and it is during the pandemic, but it also requires emails and tracking important documents in an often paperless process necessary to complete a loan.

Gretchen says, “We lend where we live” is what Peak Mortgage does.” The idea of local and being accessible means so much to the service she gives and the experiences that customers share through feedback. Gretchen’s favorite part of her position is the people she comes to know in the process and the people that she works alongside who are like family.

She’s worked in finance her whole life specifically mortgages the last 25 years. She says that the reason she chose Peak is because of the relationships on staff to get the work done to help customers get funded. She added that letting borrowers know upfront about what the process involves in a pandemic has helped in keeping her promises.

One of the best ways to make sure that everything is on the up and up is to interview your mortgage lender and to talk to the team and how that team is connected to your community.

Think smart about financial health and don’t forget to ask for check-ups on the loan you have. It’s never too late to shop local for a mortgage. Call or email MPattullo@PeakMtg.com
