UNIQUE & LUXURIOUS IN CAMAS

Posted June 28, 2021 in Special Features

With our magnificent mountain ranges, sparkling rivers and pristine forests, many luxury homes are designed to showcase the incredible  views surrounding us here in the Pacific Northwest. Mercer Island architect Carole Klees not only designed this home to be one-of-a-kind, but also considered our regional geology and weather events. This home was not just made to be astoundingly beautiful with a spacious floorplan and gorgeous views, it was also thoughtfully engineered to withstand our tendency for severe weather and potential earthquakes. Also, the abundant and intentional placement of the south facing windows across the main level and daylight basement bring passive solar energy benefits to the home.

Inside on the main level you are greeted by grand vaulted ceilings with high windows to invite the flow of  natural lighting. The main floor has an open concept kitchen, living room, and dining room, plus a Master bedroom, bathroom, private office and den. The lower level includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, and cozy common living space.

MAIN BEDROOM & MAIN BATHROOM
You’ll fi nd vaulted ceilings with Columbia River views, solid bamboo flooring, custom tile, and a gas fi replace. The built-in bookcases and cabinets are custom built by Hayes cabinets. For storage, there are double walk-in closets, a built-in linen closet, as well as custom built dressers, shelving and hanging racks. The main bathroom was designed with custom tile, double sinks, granite countertops, a walk-in shower, jetted tub, a commode with bidet, and recirculating hot water. This bathroom is ADA compliant with proper dimensions and grab bars.

LOWER TWO BEDROOMS & HALL BATHROOM
In the daylight basement you’ll fi nd an oversized guest bedroom with additional guest living space, built-ins, and double closets. A gas fireplace makes the lower-level living area cozy and inviting. French doors open to a garden area and open patio. The oversized bedroom could serve as a craft room or art studio with its built-in Hayes bookshelves. The walk-in closet is plumbed for a third bathroom. The lower-level hall bathroom has marble counters, custom tile, a steam shower/sauna combo, separate tub, and ADA compliant toilet.

KITCHEN
The open concept kitchen includes an eating nook large enough for a dining table, a center island with sink, and built-in desk. Kitchen appliances include double convection ovens, sub-zero refrigerator, gas cooking top, two dishwashers, and microwave drawer. Storage options here include a baker’s cabinet with appliance garage, oversized walk-in pantry with freezer, and extra-large china hutch between the kitchen and great room.

This elegant home in the desirable area of Camas not only delivers the breathtaking views of the Columbia Riverand Portland city lights, but it is a truly unique home.
