How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I have been a Realtor since 2006. I have served on the CCAR board of directors for three years, and have been chair of the golf committee for four years. I have also been in leadership for our local Keller Williams office.
What is your specialty?
I offer full service in all areas of residential real estate, but do have special expertise in short sales and foreclosure properties. My past career was in furniture merchandising, so I also offer expert staging advice and room design for all of my clients at no additional charge, whether you need just a little reorganizing or a full home makeover, I can help.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Find a Realtor you can trust. It is not just about putting a sign in your yard or opening the front door for buyers. Purchasing or selling your home is most likely one of the most important financial decisions you will make in your lifetime. Choosing the wrong agent could cost you a lot of money, and maybe even result in legal problems. Look for a professional who is professional, knowledgeable and respectful, and who runs their business like a business, not a hobby. I am a full time Realtor who continues to learn and grow. Every day offers a new adventure and every day offers an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience that will benefit my clients.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?
I will say that every day is an adventure. Being able to adapt to ever-changing day is a big challenge, and an accomplishment. The most unusual thing may be the family of raccoons that had decided to move into a vacant home. They were not happy to be relocated and it took the work of dedicated professionals and the patience of all involved to make it happen.
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
Most challenging? Because of the high volume of short sales I complete, I work with a lot of homeowners in distress. It is difficult to see the financial mess they are in because of what happened in previous years. It is painful to see families lose their homes and dreams. I am grateful that I can assist in some small way to help the families start over and hopefully realize the dream of home ownership again one day.
Most gratifying is seeing the smiles on the faces of my clients when I hand them the keys to their new home, or when I can happily deliver the news that the sale of their home is final. I truly form lasting relationships with my clients, and most become my friends. I also really appreciate the relationships I have formed with the amazing family of brokers with CCAR! We have some incredible human beings, and I am so proud to be one of the group that is changing the face of Real Estate in Clark County.
What do you see in the future for real estate/prices?
Tough question. However, real estate is cyclical and you can typically see the future by looking at the past. I do believe we are in a good recovery period and buyer/seller confidence is improving. We continue to have moderate and positive growth and with interest rates remaining low, both buyers and sellers appear to be happy. This time of year will bring slower sales, but I do believe that 2015 will see increasing home prices again and short marketing time for sellers.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Hobbies, volunteering, family fun?
I spend a lot of time outside, on the golf course, softball field or at the park with my 4-legged fur-baby. I love to travel to warm sunny places with sandy beaches and fruity umbrella drinks.
What do you like about living in this area?
I have lived in the Pacific Northwest most of my adult life and really enjoy all it has to offer, from golf courses to great restaurants, and from the beach to the mountains. I love that I can get in the car and be at a fancy restaurant and show in 30 minutes or at the beach in two hours. Living here offers so many amazing choices in food and beverage. This is the heart of microbrews and coffee, and I enjoy both very much.
