How long have you worked in Real Estate?
Since April 2015
What is your specialty?
In general, I believe it’s being able to listen to the client and understanding fully what they are looking for. Ensuring I am not wasting anyone’s time looking at things that are not worth looking at.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Buyers – Make sure to do an inspection, and if applicable, do a sewer scope. They are so worthwhile!
Sellers – All the information you need to make an informed sale is out there. Pick a Realtor® who can understand the data best, to market your house correctly.
What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
In Woodland, I represented the buyer, and what a property it was. As you pass through the gates, you enter a majestic grounds with walking trails, various seating areas and firepits. Stunning views and an escape from the city/suburbia life were elements that no photo could do justice.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?
No single day is the same, but in terms of property aspects, I’ve seen a shower on/off dial on a wall in a hall bathroom when no shower is around it. It was just there for décor…because that makes sense I suppose??
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
The most challenging aspect is the balance of personalities across the board. Introverts, extroverts, pessimists and optimists. Gung ho decision makers versus analytical calculated decision makers. However, while there is far more counseling in this role than I had anticipated, there is nothing better than seeing smiles on faces when handing over the keys to a new home!
What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
I don’t see any reason why this region won’t catch up with its fellow west coast cities, being Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose, LA and San Diego. We may go through some cycles to get there, but with an area so beautiful, more and more people will catch on and want to be here.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
It’s not been a career to really take `time off’. But, when I do find pockets of time, I spend them with my family. With two young daughters, that fills up a lot of my time. I’m a bit of a night owl, so when everyone sleeps, I like to catch a movie at Cinetopia, catch up on English Football or Timbers news. And, every so often, I get in 9-18 holes of golf.
What do you like about living in this area?
I’ve seen a few landscapes around Europe, but I never find myself bored of looking at the PNW mountains. I love the four seasons, being close to water, and having a European style city in Portland nearby.
Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
I joined Hasson Company for one reason – they fill the company with producing Realtors. Whether it’s me or another broker in the office you speak to, make sure to consider any agent from Hasson before making a decision to buy or sell. I hope it’s me, but you’ll be safe with any one of us.
