What is your specialty?
Clark County residential real estate. I especially love helping people who are relocating in and out of the area, as well as move up buyers who have a home to sell in order to move to either a larger home, or downsize to a smaller home. I have a large national network of referral partners and can help make sure people are taken care of no matter where life takes them.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Find a REALTORĀ® who will be honest and not just tell you what you want to hear so they can get their sign in your yard. Ask about their track record and be sure they are successfully working full-time in real estate. Also, remember that you get what you pay for – if an agent is willing to give away their own money when it comes to negotiating a lower commission rate, what do you think they will do when it comes to negotiating with your money? A good agent should more than pay for themselves by helping you price the home effectively and guide you through important negotiations regarding the offer, inspection repairs and appraisal.
What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
I recently sold a home on 50 acres in Washougal overlooking the Columbia Gorge – it was absolutely breathtaking.
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
One of the most gratifying aspects of my job is handing over keys to first time home buyers. There’s not much that can top the excitement of closing on your very first home and I feel really grateful that I get to be a part of that! Another great part of that process is getting to know all of my clients – so many of them become great friends and we keep in touch long after the home buying or selling process.
What do you see in the future for real estate?
I see technology playing a huge role in the future of real estate. With that said, I truly believe no great technology can replace the relational aspects of a real estate transaction. I see this as a call to agents to step up their game and become more educated than ever before. Clients have so much information at their fingertips online. I want to be constantly growing and developing my business so I can stay ahead of the information they can find for themselves.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
I have three teenage boys at home who are all involved in sports and keep us very busy. On Friday nights you can most assuredly find us at the football field! I also love the outdoors, travelling, reading and personal growth.
What do you like about living in this area?
I love the Portland and Vancouver foodie scene, as well as the gorgeous scenery, waterfalls, lakes, rivers, and proximity to the beach. And we aren’t too far from British Columbia, Canada where I grew up and where my parents still live.
Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
I really pride myself on breaking through the molds. My clients often comment about my responsiveness and care. I recently met with a gal who said, “I don’t think we could find a more compassionate realtor.” My background is in counseling and communication. I was amazed at how much these skill sets and strengths are essential to the real estate process. It is so gratifying to help people through this process and it gives me a great sense of pride to know I can effectively walk them through each step well-equipped and uniquely educated. I’m always pushing myself and my team to reach our potential. I believe that constant pursuit of growth is what has made me one of the top agents in my firm.
