How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I transitioned from being a full-time parent and part-time remodeler into Real Estate in August of 2013. It has been a joy to bring my experience in customer service into a field that provides me with the opportunity to build relationships during such a big transition for my clients.
What is your specialty?
The two groups that I serve most often are seniors, or recent empty-nesters, looking to down-size and find the home that will fit their needs for a lifetime, or first time home buyers who are looking for that just-right starter house. Regardless of the client, the relationship we form is the foundation of my business. My desire is always to be a partner in the process, and a resource for the future — from the basic home needs to the unique referral.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Do your research in selecting the right agent for your needs, and trust their experience and expertise. When buying, being proactive and communicating with your realtor and lender can save you a lot of time and hassle in the process. If you’re looking to sell, don’t be afraid to ask a lot of questions and make changes suggested by your agent.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?
I once walked into a home to find a swimming pool in the middle of the room with access to the rest of the house through several gates surrounding the pool. That isn’t something you see everyday. As a RealtorĀ®, I work hard to be prepared for anything.
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
I think the nature of the industry is both challenging and gratifying. I love that I get to serve families, and to work with a team of professionals to help make their dreams a reality. There is nothing more satisfying than handing a set of keys to a buyer — especially a buyer who once thought home ownership was out of reach for them.
What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
On the whole, Clark County is growing, and I don’t see that slowing down any time soon. People are starting to see the value in living in and around Vancouver. They are jumping on the opportunity to move here and build a life in such a beautiful place.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
I like to think that I am always mindful of opportunities to serve, whether it be my clients or my community at large. I enjoy volunteering alongside my children, cheering them on in their personal endeavors, and empowering them to achieve their dreams.
What do you like about living in this area?
Vancouver is a hidden gem. We are close to the ocean, the mountains, and the food and culture of Portland, all while maintaining a strong sense of community. I love that adventure awaits just outside my door — from exploring the Gorge, to hunting treasures on the beach, or finding the freshest produce at the Vancouver Farmer’s Market, there is always something exciting to do.
Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
Relationships are the most important piece of the puzzle, and nurturing those relationships is what allows me to have such a successful business. Because so many of you have trusted me to partner with you in one of the biggest investments of your life, I was able to earn Rookie of the Year at Keller Williams. Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to serve you and to be your resource for all things home related. I have recently expanded my business to include a team that can serve both residential and commercial clients in Oregon and Washington.
