If you are looking for a diverse neighborhood, come explore Minnehaha. This neighborhood has it all; a lovely mix of residential, commercial, and semirural properties. The building styles are also truly diverse; there are new modern style homes and communities as well as a broad mix of homes with older architectural styles. There is plenty of commercial space which makes Minnehaha a fantastic place to live and work. All these wonderful qualities come together to make a beautiful and unique community.

When you pass through Minnehaha, do not forget to explore the parks and trails. Stop by Leverich Park, this is one of Vancouver’s oldest parks; here you will find 16 acres of beautiful green space with fantastic amenities located along the Burnt Bridge Creek. There is a massive open lawn area, a covered picnic space, a playground, walking paths and disc golf fields. This is a fantastic way to spend the day.

After spending the day at Leverich Park, I love to stop by Ghost Runners Brewery and Kitchen for a cold beer and slice of pizza. They have a nice list of running themed beers, and they make a delicious pizza.

The name of this neighborhood came from an 1891 editorial in The Columbian newspaper. The Burnt Bridge Creek area was referred to by the editor as “Minnehaha, laughing water,” from the poem “Hiawatha”. I guess people liked it because the name stuck. Next time you are in the area, explore Minnehaha and experience all that it has to offer.
