How long have you worked in Real Estate?
Our team has more than ten years of experience in the Real Estate market. We are all born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and our team knows the industry and local area inside and out. We all left other solid career fields for Real Estate because it is our passion.

What is your specialty?
Because we are lucky enough to have several talented agents on our team, we specialize in almost everything! Originally we were buyer/seller’s agents, and then during the market dip we were the leaders in short-sales and foreclosure properties. Now that the market is booming again, we work a lot with investment buyers and first time homeowners alike. Our team sells an average of one home every three days! With our CDPE designation (Certified Distressed Property Expert), we also help with the sale and purchase of distressed properties. We have helped over 300 families over the last 6 years in the distressed real estate market and have a near perfect success rate in closing them.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Find a REALTOR® that you trust and are comfortable with. You will be working very closely with this person. Trust your instincts. There are a lot of very charismatic people who have very little industry knowledge to back that up. On the other hand, there are a lot of very successful agents who are rather unpleasant to do business with. Decide what is most important to you, and be honest with your REALTOR® about what you are looking for in the transaction.

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
We sold a home with a goat once. Not a goat that lived on a farm, but a goat that lived in the dining room. That was kind of hard to explain to our buyers. It was not our listing. The home actually belonged to, and was listed by another REALTOR®, which made it even more surprising.

What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?
After over a decade in the industry, we have experienced a lot so we are always on our toes. When out showing properties, we have walked into a room to find someone still asleep in what was thought to be an empty house. We have had security alarms go off when they were to be deactivated, and we always carry dog treats – just in case.

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
Real Estate changes on a daily basis. Keeping up with all of the rules and regulations, market values, trends etc. is very challenging. However, our team’s consistent ability to rise to these challenges and keep ahead of the crowd is what makes our job gratifying. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to confidently answer people’s questions and ease their concerns. The majority of our clients are either repeat clients, or referrals – which means we are doing something right.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
Inventory levels are at historic lows right now. Home values are going up, and new construction has picked up dramatically. This means that the market is perfect for sellers, and still fresh enough for buyers to get a good deal. While it’s highly unlikely for you to get distressed property pricing these days, it’s still a great time to invest. We are having a hard time keeping homes on the market! Thankfully, new lending regulations are keeping the market safe from the issues that led to the previous market dip.

What do you like about living in this area?
We have access to mountains, coastal beaches, lakes, rivers, parks, shopping, dining, you name it! There really isn’t much you can’t do in the Pacific Northwest. We may get a little more rain here than other parts of the country, but in exchange we live in the most beautiful and diverse region in our nation.

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
After interviewing several brokerages in the area, we selected Berkshire Hathaway Home Services based on their superior technological systems and support for staff. The last five years we have been in the top 2% of all Berkshire Hathaway Agents in the nation. In 2015 we were awarded the Chairman Circle Diamond Award, which puts us in the top 0.5% of all agents. We are very proud of these awards as they are the result of a lot of hard work and dedication by our entire team. We can’t wait to see what next year holds for us.
