How long have you worked in Real Estate?
Since March of 2008.

What is your specialty?
We specialize in relocation and sellers wishing to do a simultaneous close (moving right from their existing home to their newly purchased home). We also have a great home search website, VancouverWAHomesNow.com, which allows buyers to look for their ideal home online.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Find an agent who is well qualified for what you want to do. This may not be your friend or relative. Do your homework and research. Interview the person and make sure they have the systems in place to get you through the process. Any agent will do if everything goes perfectly; the challenge is that things never go perfectly.

What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?
I recently listed a vacant home. When the attic was examined, it was discovered that there were three large bird nests nearly 4′ wide and 3’high, the size, shape and construction of small beaver dams. A small bird had come in through a small open attic vent and built each of these nests one small stick at a time. That was a very determined bird!

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
Each client comes with his or her dreams and wishes, and they are rarely the same as someone else’s. I love this challenge and it’s always a pleasure to help each person realize their goal. I love working in a service industry that helps people reach their goals.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
I threw my crystal ball away a long time ago. However, I follow the numbers and data for our industry very closely and there are some trends. One trend is that what goes up, eventually comes down. We have been going up very quickly for a few years now so I would expect things to level off or dip in the next year or two. Interest rates, new construction and vacancy rates on rentals will all play a role in this.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
My family and I love fly-fishing, zip-lining and being outdoors. I’m also a reader and enjoy going to the theater. I have three involved and active kids at three different local schools so, as you can imagine, they keep my husband and I hopping from robotics competitions to music and theater lessons to swimming and gymnastics.

What do you like about living in this area?
I love the schools and teachers that my children interact with and the opportunities for them to grow. I also like the proximity to many outdoor activities. I was born and raised in Alaska which has limited seasonality. I love the four seasons we have here in Clark County, especially spring and fall. Lastly, there are great artistic opportunities here for adults and children, from music to theater to fine art and more. I feel like I live in the perfect place!

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
When you hire me or any agent on my team, you get a team of specialists. If you are a seller, you have a group of buyer agents on the phone each morning to make sure any possible buyer match knows about your house. My great administrative ladies cross check all contracts and timelines and make sure nothing is missed. My marketing person, professional photographer, top notch escrow officer & principal broker all work with me and the team to make sure your goals and dreams become a reality.
