How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I am just beginning my real estate career in Clark County, but worked in real estate in Arizona and Texas, prior to obtaining an MBA and launching a 30-year career in high technology at companies such as Intel and Oracle. Several company relocations tested my real estate experience and we purchased and sold homes in New Mexico, Oregon, Massachusetts and Utah before coming to Hockinson in 1998. I am excited to be back in the industry, especially in Clark County.

What is your specialty?
Residential Real Estate Sales. The daily opportunities include assisting first time buyers, young families wanting a bigger home, or baby boomers looking to downsize. In all cases, it’s a chance to help people achieve their home ownership dreams.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
If you’re a seller, find a qualified REALTOR® to provide a Comparative Market Analysis with a properly weighted selection of comps. If you’re a buyer, allow a REALTOR® to help you focus your priorities so you don’t waste valuable time in a fast paced market.

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
In San Antonio, TX, I worked as a sales associate on a condominium project that had offset split-level stories, as many as four, starting from the garage to the top floor. In spite of all the stairs, the typical buyer was a military retiree.

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
In sports there is always the exhilaration that comes with a victory. The same is true in business and your personal life. When you achieve something that has been hard earned, you want to celebrate the victory. If I can meet or exceed the client’s expectations, it will provide that feeling of victory and ultimately bring a smile.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
Sales remain brisk with low inventory, but prices will likely stabilize, particularly if buyers see a rise in interest rates. If you’re looking to move up or out, now’s the time.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
I am very active in the Relay for Life and have raised over $46K in 13 years through donations, and as a musician with the Clark County Benign Band. I’m an avid cyclist, having completed 3 Cycle Oregons and a 1600 mile self-supported solo ride from Bellingham, WA to Skagway, AK. My wife Kathy and I enjoy traveling and visiting our sons in Portland, Bellingham and Brooklyn.

What do you like about living in this area?
My family has lived in Hockinson for 17 of our 22 years in the Northwest. Our sons – Blake, Ross and Jonathan were educated in Clark County schools. Rural lifestyle, great schools, the Gorge, outdoor activities year round – there’s not a better place to live and raise a family.
