How long have you worked in Real Estate?
Since 1993.

What is your specialty?
Short sales since 2008.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Be completely honest with your agent! We can serve you better if there are no surprises during a transaction, and sometimes things that might seem unimportant matter. Choosing an agent that you feel safe talking with about the important aspects of your purchase or sale is critical. Think about what your “deal breakers” are and share that early on.

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
It had to be a chalet in Battle Ground where I represented the buyer. It’s a 5 acre lot and the grounds were as magical as Rivendell in “Lord of the Rings.” The trails and pathways were so amazing and there is even a little pet cemetery which is NOT creepy at all!

What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?
My broker brought me a short sale in which the seller was actually in jail. That was quite a wild ride! I did get it done though!

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
The most challenging thing is of course the banks. One would think that they would have better systems since 2008, but they don’t. The most satisfying thing is helping short sellers get out of the situation and move forward with their lives, hopefully to rebuild their credit and get stabilized.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
Since our area continues to be a hot destination I don’t think we’re ready to level off yet. I think the market prices will continue with modest gains. Hopefully some more land will be available to build.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
I have been a fitness instructor since 1986. I’m currently teaching yoga and spinning. It is one of the most joyous things I do. Everyone needs yoga, seriously. I am an avid reader and am totally addicted to Lee Child and James Lee Burke novels. I like to have a book to read with my Westie at my feet. Life is good.

What do you like about living in this area?
I have so many fabulous friends here!

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
It’s been a real gift for me to work with some great people at PPG. When I look forward to fun at work, that’s a good thing.
