How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I began in the title industry in 1993. I swore I’d never be a REALTOR® but in less than one year I was licensed. I can’t believe I’m in my 21[st] year.

What is your specialty?
Throughout the years I’ve handled just about any real estate transaction you can imagine. I maintain a pretty good balance between working with buyers and sellers and enjoy both equally. Something I am really specialized in is multi-family investment property and understanding/navigating the in-fill process.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
If you’re looking to buy a home, establish a relationship immediately with a REALTOR®! Don’t just randomly call every listing agent in town. It will save you a lot of frustration in the long run and give you proper representation from the beginning.

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
My largest sale ever was the land that is now the 192[nd] Avenue Costco center. I was blessed to represent the buyer of that entire corner in the two sales that made up that whole development. I think about it every time I do any shopping or eating in that center. It was definitely a unique experience.
On a totally different scale, one of my more unique in-fill projects in the City of Vancouver was being able to turn a legally created 10′ wide lot into a fully build-able lot that a standard house could go on. Needless to say, my buyer (and then seller) was quite happy with the outcome.

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
Helping buyers and sellers achieve their real estate goals is by far the most gratifying. Whether it’s handing keys to the 21 year old who’s saved up to buy his first home to helping the family walk through the closing of someone’s estate, I love being there to represent them through the whole process.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
I believe we will continue to see prices climb but I hope it stabilizes more. The low inventory creates a challenging marketplace for both buyers and sellers.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
My wife and I love music (especially 80’s British) and try to see any of our favorite artists live if they come near here. My wife, mom and I love going to Broadway in Portland and are long time season ticket holders. I love photography and am a bit of a foodie. Almost two years ago I began working out at CrossFit Acro and LOVE CrossFit! It’s been life altering for me. I’m a terrible golfer but enjoy doing it.

What do you like about living in this area?
As a life long resident of Vancouver, I truly appreciate our history. My family actually dates back to 1893 in Clark County. I love how we maintain a pretty small town feel while continuing to grow. Proximity to Portland is nice for the “big city” stuff but we still have at least 365 Things To Do In Vancouver, WA!!!

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
I was honored to serve as President of Clark County Association of REALTORS® in 2014 and named one of the 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders in the country a few years ago. I truly love what I do and look forward to taking care of people’s real estate needs for many more years. I’m blessed to be part of Real Living – The Real Estate Group family and am thankful for Chad and Hollie Sessions and the culture they’ve developed for our community.
