How long have you worked in Real Estate?
25 years.

What is your specialty?
Listing Agent/ getting a home ready for the market so it sells at top dollar and quickly. Buyer’s agent getting a buyer organized so when it’s time to negotiate we have an advantage.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Remember what your goal is! You and your agent need to remember what your goal is and discuss and plan accordingly. Ultimately what you need and want from a transaction must always be a possibility and if so must be at the finish line.

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
A beautiful home located on a private lake in Stevenson, Washington was the house that stole my heart. Under $300,000 and just the most peaceful setting I’ve ever seen.

What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?
I was a buyer’s agent in Eastern Oregon and was given sculptures as part of my commission from a wonderful artist in Joseph, Oregon. In Real Estate all commissions are paid directly to the company and an agent gets a percentage of that payment. Since you can’t cut an arm off a sculpture, my company and I both got masterpieces! It was a fun negotiation!

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
The most challenging would be managing time to spend with your family. I don’t think any career is as gratifying as the housing industry. We are talking homes, where adventures, dreams and lives are built between four walls. I’m sure there are careers more important and life saving but ours ranks mighty high on my list.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
Our market is strong and moving quickly even as we head into the Holidays. Prices are still increasing but not quite as fast as I saw earlier this year. Will rates go up after the election? I’ve heard both answers! It’s a great time to buy or sell a home. Rates are down and the market is moving fast!

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
God and my family are the most important thing in my life! My family is large, glorious and unique. I have my husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews and handpicked family of the heart! That’s my hobby! I do support Families on the Outside as my charity. It’s a Prison Ministry directed by my friends Sid and Sheri Carter. This organization is dedicated to helping break the chain of incarceration by stepping alongside the Children and Caregivers of inmates currently incarcerated in our area and helping those children by standing the gap for the missing parent.

What do you like about living in this area?
What is more beautiful than the four seasons of the Pacific Northwest! We have the best of beautiful scenery, safe neighborhoods here in Clark County and the bustle of one of the Country’s busiest and unique cities right across the river — Portland!

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
In 2014 I expanded my business by taking on my long time friend and family member Patty Murdock Clark as my business partner. She is an amazing broker with a great sense of commitment and dedication to our clients. It was a really good move for us considering the growth in the industry we have seen in 2016! Our admin Lisa Flower and our Marketing /photographer Monique Murray round out our team and we are ready to take on whatever the market throws our way! Last but not least I am so proud of Coldwell Banker Seal! I have worked there for a long time and we have great offices, marketing tools, management and Brokers here in Vancouver.
