How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I’ve worked in the Real Estate industry for 11 years. I began my career as a receptionist for a larger company and then became an assistant to the owner of Columbia River Realty.

What is your specialty?
I work mainly with residential properties all across SW Washington. I was born and raised here and feel comfortable in sharing my knowledge of the area with those who are looking to relocate here or are just moving to a different neighborhood.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home? z
If you’re thinking about buying in this fast-paced market, you need to be preapproved before you start looking. Properties are moving quickly and it is important to be prepared to make an offer when you find a home that you love. Also talking with your agent about ways to make your offer as strong as possible is important.

What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in Real Estate?
I once spent a couple of months traipsing around various pieces of land with a client who was searching for just the right property, with just the right tree to build a tree house in. They were intending to use it as a vacation property. We unfortunately never found the right tree and they changed their plans.

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
It is pretty exciting to be able hand keys to first time buyers that have worked hard to own their first home, or to empty nesters who have downsized and are looking forward to the new time in their lives as well. Everyone is on a different journey during the homebuying process and it is an honor to go through that journey with them. Having gone through the process by myself last year I feel that I have a new-found empathy for buyers and can really relate to how they are feeling.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
My two sons keep my busy with football, fishing, and kayaking. We enjoy spending time on the water whenever we can and spoiling our dog Snoop. During the holidays my boys and I make crafts to sell at the high school bazaar and then pick a local charity to donate our proceeds to. What do you like about living in this area?
I was born and raised in Washougal and feel incredibly blessed to live somewhere so beautiful. My kids like to stop periodically when we drive over Cape Horn so they can soak it in. It makes me happy that they appreciate the beauty as well. The hometown feel of our little (not so little) town of Washougal can not be beat. We are all connected through our families, children, sports, school and community activities. I love that we have such a supportive community to call home.

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
My goal is to continue to run my business by referral. When I work with a client I strive to do such an amazing job for them that they refer me to all of their friends and family who are looking to buy or sell. I am currently a mentor in my office for new agents that have just been licensed and are new to the business, or even just new to our company. Our company runs on team work and always putting our client’s needs first. They give you the tools needed to succeed through multiple trainings and mentor programs. Columbia River Realty supports and participates in many events in the local community from library fundraising to supporting the local schools. It is a great place to be!
