How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I started working as a Realtor® in 2003, right before I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree. I worked under one of the top agents in the nation and the knowledge I gained from her as been invaluable to the success I have had in Real estate.

What is your specialty?
I grew up in the Vancouver area, and then graduated as a Ridgefield Spudder; so in terms of area, my specialty is Clark County. But, in terms of what makes me different, my specialty is bringing the element of personal service and professionalism back to what has become a very “quantified online” experience.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
If you are a buyer, my tip would be to take advantage of using a Realtor®. We work for you, and are paid through the seller. You can only gain by having someone work as your personal advocate. If you are a seller, do your best to stage and prepare your home to show. Sellers who take the time to do the work upfront and stage their home will have a much better chance at competing with new construction or other comps in the area.

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
It’s always a privilege to be invited into someone’s home and seeing a little bit of their personality displayed through their home. No two houses are alike. Every home I have listed or sold has a story behind it.

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
The most challenging part of being a Realtor® right now is finding affordable housing for first time home buyers who want a decent yard and some breathing room. The most gratifying part of being a Realtor® is watching clients fall in love with a home, or finding the right buyers for a home that has been loved and cherished by the sellers.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
I think prices will vary depending on where in Clark County you are looking. Overall, we have seen a pretty rapid increase in prices over the last couple years and I personally think that will slow down. Now that construction has caught up with our stronger economy I think the market will even out a bit.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
I have four kids ranging from 13 to 3 (Chase (13), Callie (11), Kendall (7) and Sloan(3). The three oldest are all active in sports, church, and community. I also love to play volleyball! I played throughout high school and at a Division I college level. I have coached through community programs and am excited to start coaching at a more competitive club level at NW Reign this winter. It is fun to watch my oldest daughter fall in love with the sport that has created so many great memories for me. My husband and I are celebrating our 15 anniversary this year. We have enjoyed traveling and recently got to experience the Mediterranean and the incredible beauty it has to offer.

What do you like about living in this area?
The older I get the more I appreciate the luxury of living in such a beautiful place. I have seen a lot of places in this world and feel lucky that we live where we do. We have everything the outdoors has to offer, and our mild temperature allows us to do that most of the year. I love the seasons, especially fall. I think we are lucky to have “small town” living with the convenience of being close to the Portland area.
