Planning for a successful 2018

Each November we start our annual planning process. We spend a great deal of time aligning our Core Purpose/Values, Strategic Objectives and Financials Projections. I’d like to share with you some of our thoughts on our Core Purpose.

Our Core Purpose is to commit to be the best Empty Nester homebuilder in Southwest Washington ranging from 1500-2400 square feet.

We have spent the last 25 years with a split focus. About 50% of our work had been dedicated to the plus 50 age group. Moving forward we have agreed to make it a 100% company focus. We expect by mid2018 to be there.

We have also decided to not build in Oregon. We have been building there since the early 1990’s. We have decided that the traffic is just too much. It has been increasingly difficult to sustain a workforce that is willing to spend at least a third of their day sitting in traffic. We are excited to be able to focus on just Southwest Washington.

I have spent a great deal of time working on single level floor plans between 1500 and 2400 square feet. These floor plans will serve the Empty Nesters well. Guaranteed!! I can’t wait to start being able to deliver them. These will be a collection of terrific plans that will be pleasing to the eye, incorporate Universal Design and best of all affordable.

One of those plans is called the Lincoln. The Lincoln will be our model home located on the Green Meadows golf course. The Lincoln will be the launching pad for our renewed focus. We expect to have our model open sometime in January. We look forward to seeing you there.

In future articles I will share with you our Core Values, Strategic Objectives and Financial Projections.

We would like to wish everybody a terrific holiday season and a happy new year.

I hope this helps and thank you for reading the newspaper.
