We Have Some Exciting News!

Posted August 16, 2021 in Real Estate Trends

Last Tuesday night the Evergreen School Board gave the green light to making a Skilled Trade Center possible at Evergreen High School. I want to thank the board members along with the Evergreen School District (ESD) officials in agreeing to take the next steps making this a reality.

We plan on teaching homebuilding skills inside the Skilled Trade Center. (We will be building tiny homes—check out Wolf Industries in  Battle Ground—www.wolfind.com—to give you an idea–they will be helping us out). ESD has also agreed to provide a liaison to help us bring in the private sector employers to help kids learn. Our vision is to help kids learn about the employment opportunities by creating work/ learn experiences, paid internships, and more importantly full employment.

Employers are in dire need of quality people. Over 1 million jobs are needed to be filled in construction related fields. The average age of a  construction worker is 57. We see a 20 year trend of high demand for workers in the construction field. The pay is excellent!! Target date for a facility to be ready is September of 2022.

A special thanks to Doug and Heather Greene. Doug and I have been highly focused on creating opportunities for young people to learn about the great opportunities in the skilled trades. Doug, we are getting one step closer!!

Our model home is open 12-4 on Saturdays and Sundays. Check our website www.quailhomes.com for its location. If you are thinking about downsizing… Consider Quail… you have earned it!!

I hope this helps and thank you for reading the newspaper.
