How long have you worked in mortgage lending? This is my 20th year in the Real Estate industry. I started in 1998 in title/escrow and worked my way up to a Sales Manager position with the company. I left in 2006 and began my path in Mortgage Lending—out of the
frying pan and into the fire!

Do you have any specialties? As a former educator, my passion is helping individuals understand the complexities involved in making what amounts to the largest financial decision of their life. Thus, first time homebuyers are what I enjoy most! Our team teaches First Time Home Buyer classes twice a month and we are consistently listed as one of the top lenders in the state for these products.

What advice do you have about choosing a mortgage lender? This is a relationship based business and I encourage prospective homebuyers to reach out to their sphere and elicit
a referral from them. My team and I work 100% by referral and you can be assured if we were not doing a fantastic job for our clients, we would no longer be in business. The Internet lenders of the world do not operate the same way— buyer beware!

What is the most unusual situation you’ve encountered while working
mortgage lending? Every situation is different. There are no ‘cookie cutter’ transactions. We have seen three generations buying houses together, ex-husbands buying for ex-wives, couples buying their first home and individuals buying their tenth and downsizing.

What is the most challenging/ gratifying aspect of what you do? As this is an industry of intangibilities, the end product for us is the smile on our clients’ faces when they obtain the dream of homeownership. Inspiring Hope, Delivering Dreams & Increasing Prosperity is what we live by.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices? My crystal ball is currently on the fritz, but my gut tells me we are still headed for a healthy market for some time. Yes, prices have leveled off, but so have interest rates. The best time to buy is still ‘yesterday’ but my advice is to take advantage of the current market and rates before both inevitably continue to rise.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun? I am married to my High School sweetheart of 19 years and we have three amazing children together: Jenilyn (16), Jaden (13) and Elliana (8). My time outside work is spent traveling,
backpacking, coaching, kayaking, fishing, hunting and anything  involving the outdoors and my children.

What do you like about living in this area? I grew up in California for
the more formative years of my life, but became a resident of North County here in the early 90’s. To have the beach, mountains, hiking, volcanoes, lakes, etc. all in our backyard is something you don’t find in 99% of the world.

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company? As a local lender of 20 years, my team and I are ready to assist you with whatever you might need. We have an office in Battle Ground and one in Vancouver. Come see us and feel the difference an experienced lender involved with the local community can make for you!
