How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I have been a Realtor® for 17 years in Clark County where I started my real estate career in 1997.
What are the top three things that separate you from your competition?
- My relationship with my clients is number one. I believe in face-to-face visits and try to do these as often as I can. At the very minimum, I drop by every December to hand deliver my calendars for the coming year to over 160 homes. My visits range from a couple of minutes to just say “hello” to two hours for coffee, cookies, and conversation.
- I am passionate about professionalism and ethics in the real estate industry. I currently serve as Chairman of the Grievance Committee for the Clark County Association of Realtors, and as a WA State Director, I serve on the Professional Standards Sub-Committee and as the Vice-Chair Elect for 2015 of the Diversity Sub-Committee, dealing with protected classes.
- I am not afraid of change and challenge. I am an education “junkie” and hone my skills constantly. My education, experience, and knowledge help me in assisting my clients in achieving their goals and dreams. I am a real estate consultant and spend a lot of time listening and giving guidance to my clients.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
I encourage my clients to look at a home purchase as an investment. It should be a home you truly love, but remember that appreciation in value and resale potential are important factors to keep in mind. Location, location, location – may be cliché, but it still applies.
What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
The property itself was not unique, but the most interesting included item that I negotiated on a purchase for my Buyer was a Bison head mounted on a wall. The Seller was so happy that it was going to someone who would appreciate it. A win-win!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I have been married to the same great guy for over 27 years. When both of my children were in high school, I was very involved with the Evergreen Marching Band Boosters and the band family continues to be an important part of my life. Presently, my two grandchildren are my joy. I am also a “Pysanky,” Ukrainian Egg Artist and teach classes. I have displayed and demonstrated this folk art several times at the Library and local schools.
