How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I’ve been working in real estate since 2002, after graduating from WSU with a degree in advertising and business management.

What is your specialty?
Anything residential. It’s been different throughout my career. As a rookie, I focused with first time home buyers and taught classes with the Home Ownership Program. During the recession, I worked with local banks and credit unions, helping them through their problem assets. Today, new construction is a focus/specialty of mine working with Sun Country Homes, a builder who also has deep roots in our community. Through it all though, myself and FBR Realty have always had a vacant land expertise like no other. If it’s residential, we have the tools and knowhow.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
First, work with a REALTOR®. Second, work with a REALTOR®. Lastly, work with a REALTOR®. Honestly, it can’t be stressed enough. Select an expert, someone with experience, someone you’re comfortable with and someone whose advice you will listen to, even when they might not be telling you what you want to hear. The best REALTORS® say it like it is.

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
My most memorable sales evolve from dirt to roof tops. Getting the opportunity to watch entire neighborhoods form is exciting. First we help the land owner, then work with the engineers, build the roads, then comes the houses. It’s rare to be involved in all phases so it’s very exciting and rewarding.

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
One of the most challenging has to be the time/hours of work. You are never not on call/email/text. The three most important skills/challenges in this industry are 1) time management 2) being a people person and enjoying people 3) problem solving. Most of what we do is solve the unexpected.
The most gratifying is helping people realize their goals and dreams in a home that’s perfect for them. The look on someone’s face when you hand them the key to their new home is pretty special.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
I think in 2016 sales and prices will remain strong. We are in a very healthy marketplace. I do believe that prices will level off in the coming years 2017/2018, especially as interest rates rise. We may enter a period of stagnation in terms of appreciation. This wouldn’t be the worst thing that could happen. We don’t want to over inflate the market again. Currently we still have a supply problem. There simply are not enough homes for the demand.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
We are an active family on the go. Love the outdoors, skiing, biking, hiking, rivers, lakes, etc. Our downtime is precious too, movie nights with popcorn and couch time. I enjoy helping with fundraisers for WSU and recently joined a foundation to help the Ridgefield School District. I also volunteer with the Clark County Association of REALTORS®. I’m on the board for Professional Standards which is a committee focused on educating REALTORS® on ethics and code of conduct.

What do you like about living in this area?
What’s not to like? I’ve been blessed to travel many places. I couldn’t imagine not living in Clark County. The quality of life here is amazing. We are so lucky.

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
We are locally owned and operated since 1972. Our reputation, expertise and knowledge of the community and real estate industry is virtually unmatched. We pride ourselves in honesty and hard work. We don’t see ourselves as sales people. We are truly looking to help, provide guidance and assist people in reaching their goals.
