Kelly Muscarella, Clark County WA real estate agent

How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I was first licensed in California in March of 2000, I then moved to Battle Ground in October 2005 and got my Washington license in January 2006. I sold in both states for about 4 years then sold my California business to focus in Clark County.

What is your specialty?
I am a full time, full service Real Estate broker who handles all aspects of real estate. I love working with all types of buyers and sellers. From the first time home buyer who has no idea what they are doing or what they can afford to the seniors who are downsizing and need the perfect single story last home.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Follow your instincts. Buying or selling a home is one of the largest investments you will ever make. You need to trust the person you choose to help you, you will spend an extended amount of time together and you have to have 100% trust and faith in them as an agent and a person!

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
Every home is unique. However, one I will always remember was a large home that had everything: formal living room, formal dining, HUGE master bedroom and a secret room behind a bookcase. You had to know exactly where the latch was to release the bookcase so it would slide over to show the entrance. It was just like in the movies.

What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in real estate?
A pig named Gladys. She was HUGE and lived in the house. There was a warning on the MLS saying she was in the home. It was more than I expected. She was friendly and followed us to each room. Every time I asked her a question she would snort and make all kinds of noises.

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
Every single aspect of my job is gratifying. I love it all, from sitting down with the clients at the first consultation and discussing what they want to achieve to handing them their keys at the end of it all! Or the look on the seller’s face when they realize they received the offer they wanted and are going to be able to take the next step in their lives.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
This is the question asked most, and the hardest of all to answer. I truly wish I had a crystal ball. However, no matter what the future holds if your life is in a position to allow you to purchase then it is the perfect time for you to buy! Same with selling, no matter what the conditions, if it is the right time for your family to move then do it!

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
I have two grown sons, 1 daughter-in-law who works for me, 3 grandbabies and my partner has 3 kids. I love white water rafting with friends down the Deschutes, taking the Harley out for a Sunny Sunday drive, or the quads to Sand Lake or Jones Creek to ride. But my #1 thing is to make cookies with my grandbabies. And I have to say, I root for the Timbers!

What do you like about living in this area?
The Northwest is the most amazing place to live. No matter what you like to do, it is within reach, no matter if you are a single individual or a family.
Anything else you would like our readers to know about your and your company?
I was told once that when you love what you do it isn’t work. I absolutely LOVE what I do. After ten years with an amazing company in Clark County, I have moved to a new real estate brokerage house and am excited to start the next chapter in my career and see what’s next!
