How long have you worked in Real Estate?
We have over 10 years of combined experience between us!

What is your specialty?
We specialize in residential real estate in Clark County. We work with both buyers and sellers and enjoy the aspects of both sides of the transaction.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home?
Find a Realtor(r) you click with! There are a lot of talented brokers in Clark County but it’s important that you feel comfortable and completely trust the person who will help you buy or sell your home.

What is the most unique property you’ve listed or sold?
We sold a 1920’s home in downtown Vancouver that was originally the carriage house for the larger 6 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house behind it. The carriage house had been completely remodeled, but it was essentially just two rooms-the main living/kitchen space downstairs and the master suite upstairs. It had the feel of a very cool, very urban tiny house!

What is the most unusual thing you’ve encountered while working in Real Estate?
We arrived on time for a showing appointment with our first time buyers. The house appeared to be empty so we entered and began our tour. We finished seeing the main floor and made our way upstairs to the bedrooms but as we entered the master bedroom, we found the owner asleep in the bed!

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?
One of the most difficult aspects of real estate is finding a balance between work and personal life. We are fortunate to have each other not only for support at work, but we are also sisters-in-law! Working together is so fun and we are able to help each other balance our hectic work schedules with family priorities. Educating our clients, especially first time buyers or sellers, and preparing them for what to expect at every step of the transaction is very gratifying.

What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices?
In the last 6-7 years we have enjoyed healthy growth in our market. Historically, most real estate markets last about 8 years which means we have just about reached the peak of the current market. If that is the case, we would expect to see a healthy decline or leveling off in the next 12 to 18 months before the next upswing.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hobbies, volunteering, family, fun?
We both love spending time with family and friends. Jess and her husband have 2 boys – Jackson (6) and Bennett (3) – Kara and her husband have a boy and a girl-Blake (8) and Kylie (6). Family barbecues and gatherings are constant, in between all the various activities from soccer games to swimming lessons. During the school year we both enjoy volunteering in our kids’ classrooms.
Jess is a Gonzaga graduate and thereby a die-hard Zags fan, she loves to travel and volunteers to support local children’s charities. Kara went to WSU and loves her Cougs. She also loves to travel and spend time with family.

What do you like about living in this area?
Even with the growth Vancouver has experienced in recent years, it still has a small town feel and we love the sense of community.

Anything else you would like our readers to know about you and your company?
We’re a family run business and we treat our clients like family. When you buy or sell your home, it’s very personal, and we absolutely love the personal friendships we’ve developed with our clients over the years.
